After a long day's journey, I have finally arrived in the Dominican. I have to say, the most impressionable thing so far is the people - they are outstanding. Everyone we have meet has greeted us with smiles and kind words. The best news I can give you right now is that I do have a place to work and live this summer. This evening at dinner I met the director of the ACJ-YMCA I will be working at. It's looking like I will be teaching two separate English classes - one for kids ages 7-12 and another for adults. The best part is - he told me how everyone is so excited about classes and have been talking about it for a week! Actually - I was told that there were many people interested in hosting me this summer so it was hard to chose which family I would be staying with.
Anyways - I am exhausted and am going to bed. Before I do I'm going to post just a few pictures I took today, so at the top of the blog there is a link that says "Photos" - just click it to check out what I've been up to.

Went to California for the weekend with my aunt two weeks ago.

Mountains!!!

Me alegro de que hayas llegado...y que tengas un empleo y un piso :) however, the alternative of bumming around on the dominican beaches might not have been so bad...
I was actually thinking of you as I am in an organizational mode - putting all of my FLES lessons and activities and worksheets in grade level piles. Nothing like filing for a happening Saturday night in Gbury!
